Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation Review

After my slight disappointment with the foundation in my last review, I went back to the drugstore to see if I could find something that suits my skin better. I decided to try the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Fresh Complexion Oil Free Foundation. I have the shade 315 Tawny, and I purchased it for about $7 at Walmart.

I'm so happy that this foundation comes in a squeeze-tube package! It's so much easier to use than the glass bottles (without a pump) that most drugstore brands come out with.

This foundation comes in 12 different shades, but I feel like the range could use a couple more light shades and a couple more dark shades. The shade I have is the second-to-darkest shade, so if you're darker than me there's still hope! I also found the shade to be pretty neutral (not too cool, not to warm), which I really like.

After applying this on my skin, the finish is very natural. It isn't a really matte foundation like the new Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation. I think the finish of this foundation makes it perfect for everyday, and it doesn't look like I'm wearing lots of makeup when I wear it.

The Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation claims to be a medium coverage foundation, and I completely agree. I find that it covers most of my problem areas upon applying one layer, but I can build it up in spots where I need a little more coverage without getting a cakey look.

Now on to the most important part: lasting power! This foundation claims to "last all day" and though I can't 100% agree with this statement, I can say it comes close to lasting all day on my oily skin, which I'm impressed with. Normally, I consider a foundation that lasts 4-5 hours on my skin with primer and powder "decent," and this one stayed on for 7+ hours before I started looking like an oil slick!!!! I was shocked! I imagine this would last even longer if you have more normal to combination skin.

So overall, I enjoy this foundation, and I think I'll repurchase it when I run out. It performs a lot better than other drugstore foundations I've tried. The price is fair, the packaging is nice, and the lasting power finish are both so nice! The only think I can really find wrong with this foundation is the shade range, but I feel like I say that about every drugstore foundation. If you have oily skin and are looking for a drugstore foundation for daily wear, this one might be worth a try! I plan on trying the Covergirl 3 in 1 Foundation next, so stay tuned for that review soon!

  1. Thats so good that it lasted longer than the Maybelline poreless matte foundation! I actually might try this one for my oily skin!

  2. I have been thinking to try this and now I will after reading the natural finish and medium coverage. I hate anything that is full coverage, much prefer sheer to medium so this is right up my alley.

  3. I've been hearing such great things about this foundation, but I have a hard time finding a cover match with covergirl foundations due to my pinky undertones.
